Flexible Working

We care about the well-being of our colleagues and offer flexible working opportunities so our staff have every opportunity to continue the career they love whilst not compromising their lives outside of work.

One of our colleagues reflected on how our flexible working opportunities have benefitted them and provided opportunities to progress:

“As I started my apprenticeship the world headed into the COVID-19 pandemic…I was a single mum living alone with my two children. My line manager at the time allowed me to work flexibly. I worked in the office during school hours and home the remaining hours.”

Career Opportunities

At BCUHB we value our apprentices and their important contribution. That’s why our apprentices are offered the same great benefits as full-time employees, with annual leave, salaried pay and tech benefits on top of achieving academic advancements by completing their NVQ diplomas.

With the skills and qualifications gained from completing their apprenticeship with us at BCUHB, we have seen our apprentices progress into senior administrative and managerial roles.

Our apprentices feel the “sky’s the limit” for them here at BCUHB within Mental Health and Learning Disabilities. We encourage continuous learning for our employees and run various training sessions for our apprentices to attend.

Over the years in BCUHB, I have had many development opportunities. I have acquired numerous qualifications including ILM Level 3, minute taking, Excel training, and Higher Apprenticeship Level 4 Project Management. I have recently enrolled on ILM Level 4.
