North Wales is the place to be for CAMHS professionals. The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board CAMHS team leads the way with innovation.
We have a wealth of opportunities in our services for Registered Mental Health Nurses, Mental Health Practitioners, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and HCAs to join us. At BCU we have five specialist CAMHS teams which work across North Wales and our service is staffed by multi-disciplinary teams who work together to support children and young people. As an integrated service we have a broad range of functions. This includes:
- Inpatient
- Home treatment intensive teams
- Hospital based crisis and liaison
- Early intervention and prevention
- GP based services
- School based services
- Eating disorders
- Core CAMHS assessment and therapy services.

Schools In Reach
Be part of the exciting ‘In Reach’ roll out across North Wales. We’re recruiting gifted, dedicated practitioners from a range of backgrounds (including nursing, social work, OT, physio and youth work to name a few!) to work with schools across the region, joining our team as a CAMHS Education Mental Health Practitioner.
This challenging and multi-faceted role is part of our pioneering ‘In Reach’ project which brings the NHS and schools together. You’ll be delivering training on anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self-harm and suicide as well as working alongside head teachers and senior leaders to enhance school community mental health wellbeing policies.
Early Years
Do you have a specific interest in CAMHS in an early years context? BCU has an incredibly strong early years function in our east area. As a member of our team you’ll receive excellent professional development support and you’ll be part of a pioneering service.
HCAs
The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board CAMHS team has excellent opportunities for HCAs, including Band 4 Associate Practitioner roles. You can work while studying for your nursing degree, and benefit from rotational posts for rounded experience.

Psychologist
As a Psychologist at BCU we have a range of diverse positions including roles that involve clinical specialisms, academic development, schools and opportunities to engage with the research agenda. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to learn and develop as well as provide clinical leadership, enabling you to truly shape your career.
Our Band 7 Clinical Psychologists development posts also offer automatic progression and a fast track into Band 8A following a programme of preceptorship and consolidation. Take your career to the next level as part of the innovative and thriving CAMHS team at BCU.

Psychiatrist
We have opportunities for Consultant and Speciality Doctor Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists to join our team. We have first level psychosis services and are undergoing further development of our services in ED, Crisis and Scheduled Care. Following funding from Together for Children and Young people national work programme, we have exciting new roles available in our Community CAMHS team giving you the opportunity to get to the heart of difficulties people are experiencing and build the community you work in.
We have integrated primary and secondary care services which allows for the development of an exceptional multi-disciplinary culture, making it easier to work together meaning you can build really good systems and processes with less obstacles.
